For twenty-five years I was a primary school teacher. Every school holidays, my husband Peter and I drove to Coolum Beach and every time that ocean air hit, something in me exhaled.

Eight years ago a boutique came available here on the Sunshine Coast. My husband Peter looked at me across the kitchen table and didn't say a word. He didn't have to.

I handed in my notice. We moved. And that same year, I opened the door to Cheryl's Coolum Beach for the very first time.

Now I'm sixty-seven, and it's time to retire.

Not because something went wrong.

Because something went beautifully right and I'm wise enough to know when a story has reached its ending.

This is my retirment sale. Every piece I ever chose for this boutique was chosen with one woman in mind the real one, not the one on the hanger. That hasn't changed.
