For twenty-five years I worked as a nurse, and I loved caring for others. Whenever my husband Tom and I travelled to Golden Bay during our holidays, the moment those beaches and mountains came into view, I felt at home.

Eight years ago, after years of nursing, a small boutique came up for lease in Golden Bay. Tom looked at me across the kitchen table and didn't say a word. He didn't have to.

I'd spent twenty-five years helping others through difficult moments. Now I wanted to create something that helped women feel confident, comfortable and beautiful. We moved, and that same year I opened the door of Diane's Golden Bay for the very first time.

Now I'm sixty-four, and it's time to close this chapter. Not because something went wrong. Because something went beautifully right — and I'm wise enough to know when it's time for a new beginning.

This is my final collection. Every piece I chose for this boutique was chosen with a real woman in mind — something that makes you look in the mirror and think, "Yes. This feels like me." That has always been the heart of Diane's Golden Bay.
